In our dedication to offering new experiences which highlight our historic castle and Japanese culture, Welcome-Matsumoto and the Matsumoto Tourism Association will soon present an exciting way to explore Matsumoto Castle in a traditional Kimono. On the menu of this new tour: Traditional Tea Ceremony, Kimono Walking Tour and Photo Session in front of Matsumoto Castle. This is a great way to discover the best of Japanese culture while enjoying a local jewel also registered as a National Treasure!

Tea Ceremony

Before your walking tour around the castle, don your kimono and enjoy partaking in a traditional tea ceremony. Enter inside an authentic tea house as an honored guest: The Ikegami Tea House. Designed in the Kyoto tradition, this quaint structure embodies the spirit of the city’s past and is a hidden gem within Matsumoto City.

Kimono Walking Tour around Matsumoto Castle

Matsumoto Castle is the perfect place to enjoy strolling around in a Japanese Kimono. The atmosphere around this feudal fortress will take you back to another era. Matsumoto Castle’s ancient architecture and your traditional Kimono provide an ideal setting for some great photo opportunities!

We have the great fortunate to have a professional photographer on hand for this tour. In addition professional Japanese Kimono master services will be provided by Sharon’s Kimono World. We take great pride in our partnerships providing you with the greatest and most enjoyable experience possible!
