Guide Jobs: We are seeking a highly motivated part-time tour guide to join our team in Matsumoto and/or in Nagano City.

Matsumoto City is one of Japan’s most charming castle towns. As a Matsumoto guide with us, you’ll lead half-day tours in and around Matsumoto, sharing the region’s rich history, natural beauty, and cultural highlights with international guests.

Nagano City is an exciting destination known for its blend of traditional culture, scenic beauty, and historic landmarks. As a local Nagano guide, you’ll lead half-day tours throughout the city and nearby areas, introducing international travelers to its unique atmosphere, rich heritage, and hidden gems.

Our mission is to deliver unforgettable, authentic experiences that go beyond standard sightseeing.

Requirements

This role is a great fit for individuals with the following qualities:

  • Solid knowledge of the Matsumoto / Nagano areas and Japanese culture
  • A passion for storytelling and cultural exchange
  • A customer-first attitude with strong communication skills
  • Ability to guide confidently in English
  • Able to manage group logistics
  • Ensure guest comfort and safety
  • Respond knowledgably to questions throughout the tour

Additional duties may include assisting with itinerary development, creating travel content for our website and social media platforms, and helping with the training of new guides.

Fluency in English and a good command of Japanese are essential. Knowledge of other languages is a bonus. Applicants must already be living in Matsumoto City, Nagano City or the surrounding area and be available to start promptly. Prior guiding experience is welcome but not mandatory. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Offer

  • Position(s): Part-time Guide
  • Location: Matsumoto City and/or Nagano City
  • Skills and Knowledge:
  • Prior guiding experience is welcome but not essential
  • Long period stay in Matsumoto and extensive knowledge of the area
  • Rich experience of living in Japan with extensive knowledge of Japanese culture, history, traditions and current manners
  • Basic Japanese (ability to speak and understand spoken Japanese), Fluent English. Another language (preferably French, Spanish, German, Italian) speaking ability is a plus but not required
