A Dancing Parade !

Summer is the season for many festivals in Japan. Among Matsumoto City’s residents, one night in August is a time to “Bon Bon”! This festival is a huge event which sees Matsumoto’s downtown shut down as hundreds of residents from all walks of life parade in designated groups along the city streets and dance all day and late into the night!
Matsumoto Bon Bon is part parade, part dance, part party and part street carnival. Each group parades through the downtown streets while dancing and interacting with visitors and resident spectators. Bon Bon is a good reason for everyone to get outside and enjoy a fun filled evening with friends and family!
